Earthquake protection of chattels and light office equipment

Abstract

The scope of this study is the mitigation of earthquake damage to the contents (chattels) of homes and offices. A wide range of research approaches have been used.  They include literature surveys, experimental work, design, field work and subsequent analysis.  Each facet of the study will be reported on.

The aim of the study has been to develop practical and inexpensive techniques that can be widely used in the community to reduce losses in future earthquakes.
