EQC welcomes Lars Piepke as Chief Strategy Officer
The Earthquake Commission (EQC) has appointed Lars Piepke as Chief Strategy Officer, who takes up the position today.
“With a strong background in financial services and government, Lars is an excellent fit for this role. His extensive experience working with multiple Ministers, Crown entities and their Boards to advance their strategies and achieve Government outcomes will complement the momentum we’ve created at EQC,” says EQC Chief Executive Tina Mitchell.
Lars joins EQC from The Treasury, where he’s held senior roles in the Commercial Performance area monitioring a number of Government organisations. This included working across many aspects of EQC since 2017, providing Lars with first-hand insights on New Zealand’s unique disaster insurance scheme.
“The familiarity and working knowledge of our organisation, as well as the journey we’re on, gives Lars a robust foundation to build from in this role and I’m very excited to have him joining our capable Executive Leadership Team,” says Mitchell.
”I have had a very productive relationship with EQC over the last five years and I am excited to have now joined EQC as the organisation’s mission to reduce the impact on people and property when natural disasters occur resonates strongly with me,” says Lars.
